All offices will remain closed on this day. If there is any important work, then complete it soon. Banks will remain closed on Mahavir Jayanti in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Telangana. Banks will be open in many states on Thursday.

 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) releases the State-specific bank holiday calendar every year, which includes the official bank holiday for the whole year. This month, banks will remain closed in various states on festivals like Mahavir Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Good Friday, Bohag Bihu, Basav Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya. Apart from this, Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti, Sarhul, Tamil New Year, Himachal Day, Vishu, Cheraoba, Garia Pooja, Parashuram Jayanti are also included.

When will the banks be closed in April 2025?

April 10 (Thursday) – On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Telangana will remain closed.

On 14 April (Monday), banks will be closed due to Ambedkar Jayanti in Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh and New Year festivals (Vishnu, Bihu, Tamil New Year) in some states.

Banks will remain closed on 15 April (Tuesday) on the occasion of Bengali New Year, Himachal Day and Bohag Bihu in Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

April 18 (Friday) – On the occasion of Good Friday, banks will remain closed in Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.

21 April (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Tripura. Tribal festival Garia Puja will be celebrated on this day.

On April 29 (Tuesday), banks in Himachal Pradesh will be closed on the occasion of Lord Parshuram Jayanti.

April 30 (Wednesday) – Banks will remain closed in Karnataka on the occasion of Basav Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya.
