Most people won’t picture a tractor driver when one talks about a person speaking fluent English with confidence and clarity. In a world quick to judge by profession or background, one young man from Bangladesh turned heads with his English-speaking skills.
Hridoy Chandra Roy, a tractor driver by profession, has gone viral for his good command over the language.
He is a tractor driver from Bochaganj in Dinajpur, but he isn’t going viral for driving reels. His spoken English videos have brought him fame and respect from Bangladeshi netizens and the neighbourhood.
Hridoy runs a social media page named “Hridoy Chandra,” where he regularly posts English-speaking videos. He primarily uses YouTube to upload his clips and educate viewers online.

He is identified as the son of Radharani Roy and Sudhir Chandra Roy, who inspired him to study the language to succeed. With their support and self-dedication, he pursued formal education till the 12th grade.
He completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 2018 and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in 2020. However, his plans for higher studies were cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing him to discontinue. But instead of giving up, Hridoy leaned into his love for language.
Locals say he continued to read English books and watched YouTube videos to develop strong language skills — all while working as a tractor driver.
As his video gained popularity, the internet was stunned to see a tractor driver speak English with an impressive accent. Netizens commented “Nice dada” and “You are inspiring” on his YouTube videos.
Recently, several local media channels interviewed Hridoy.
“Hello guys, I have made a lot of videos, but now, as you can see, he is my father, name is Sudhir Chandra Roy, a big inspiration for me to learn spoken English”, the man said while speaking to Deepto News.
One of his videos, forwarded by Mytv Bangla, records him saying, “I’m sitting on my tractor. This is my tractor and I am tractor driver. I am also teacher”.
