Mumbai: The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested a Bangladeshi national from Dadar Railway Station in connection with the Nagpur violence case.

The arrest follows intelligence inputs indicating the involvement of Bangladeshi infiltrators in the Nagpur riots. During questioning, the accused was identified as Azizul Rahman, who was found in possession of a forged passport.

Forged Passport Issued from Nagpur According to sources, Rahman’s passport was issued from Nagpur, which he allegedly obtained a few years ago using fake documents. The crime branch is currently investigating where he intended to travel with the passport and the motive behind obtaining it.

Probe into Fake Document Network The police are now focusing on identifying the individuals who helped Rahman acquire the fake passport. Additionally, the crime branch is probing the reason behind his arrival in Mumbai and whether he had any specific agenda.

Denies Involvement in Nagpur Violence During interrogation, Rahman denied participating in the Nagpur violence. However, the crime branch is conducting a thorough investigation into his background and connections.

It has been revealed that Rahman had been living in Nagpur for the past 6-7 years but fled to Mumbai after the violence. Authorities are also investigating whether more individuals from Nagpur accompanied him to Mumbai and their current whereabouts.

Coordination with Nagpur Police The Mumbai Crime Branch is coordinating with the Nagpur Police, exchanging intelligence and sharing information related to the case. The investigation is ongoing, with officials working to trace Rahman’s possible links and uncover the network involved in the violence.
