Dhaka, March 29: Bangladesh has officially declared that Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2025. The decision was reportedly today as the country is observing the 28th fast of Ramadan 2025. Eid is celebrated on the first day of the month of Shawwal after the crescent moon for the month is sighted.

Today marks the 28th day of Ramadan in the country. As the sun has set, the crescent moon is expected to be visible tomorrow (Sunday). Based on this, authorities have confirmed that Ramadan will complete 30 days, and Eid will be on Monday.

A tweet was shared on social media saying, “Bangladesh: Monday, March 31st is Eid al-Fitr. The sun has set in Bangladesh and Eid al-Fitr will be on Monday as today is the 28th day of Ramadan. The crescent moon will be visible to the naked eye tomorrow, Sunday.” The tweet was shared by the official account of the International Astronomy Center.
