Prayagraj, 29 November (HS). Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest of adult girls Ranjana Prajapati and Vikas Kashyap of Jahanaganj village Semraul police station of Azamgarh under the FIR registered on charges of kidnapping and conspiracy. A notice has been issued to the complainant and a reply has been sought from the opposition including the state government.
This order has been given by the division bench of Justice Rajiv Gupta and Justice Surendra Singh. The petitioner says that according to the high school certificate, the victim is a 19 year old adult. She is living in a consensual live-in relationship with Vikas, a boy from her village. Both people are living happily together. The victim’s mother forcefully wanted to get married somewhere else. The next hearing of the petition will be on February 10.
