Demand for Mount Abu liquor ban: Mount Abu, the famous tourist destination of Gujaratis, has become a topic of discussion. The issue of changing the name of Mount Abu was a matter of discussion in the assembly on Tuesday (March 11). There has been a demand in the assembly to change the name of Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan near Gujarat. Minister Ottaram Dewasi has made this demand in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Along with this, the minister has also appealed to ban the sale of meat and liquor.

Demand to change Abu’s name

Rajasthan government minister Otaram Dewasi demanded to change the name of Mount Abu to ‘Abu Raj Tirtha’ in the assembly. Apart from this, he also appealed to ban the sale of meat and liquor there, describing it as a holy pilgrimage site. This demand has created an uproar in political and social circles.

 

Religious importance of mount abu

Mount Abu, called Kashmir of Rajasthan, is a major attraction for tourists. Every year a large number of tourists visit this place. Meanwhile, Minister Otaram Dewasi raised the issue of changing the name in the assembly and said that this mountain of Sirohi district has been the center of faith of Sanatan Dharma since ancient times. Earlier this place was known as ‘Abu Raj Tirtha’. But later its name was changed to Mount Abu. Abu Raj Tirtha is a sacred place where 33 crore deities reside. Therefore, it should be identified again by its ancient name.

Demand to ban the sale of liquor and meat in Mount Abu

In the House, Minister Ottaram Dewasi appealed to change the name of Mount Abu and ban the sale of meat and liquor there. He said that many religious places including Guru Shikhar, Delwara Jain Temple, Arbuda Mata Temple, Lord Dattatreya Temple are located here. In such a situation, this place should be declared a holy pilgrimage site.

 

The minister said that alcohol and meat are sold openly in Mount Abu, which hurts the sentiments of the devotees. Such activities should be strictly banned. The government is now waiting for the reply to change the name of Mount Abu and ban the sale of liquor and meat.
