BAMU Sanctions Rs 354.37 Crore Budget For 2025-26 With Key Provisions For Research, Conferences, And Cultural Events |

The annual budget of Rs 354.37 crore for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) for the year 2025-26 has been sanctioned during the senate meeting held on Saturday. Vice Chancellor Dr. Vijay Fulari presided over the meeting.

The senate meeting took place at BAMU’s Mahatma Phule Hall on Saturday at 11 am. Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Valmik Sarwade, Registrar Dr. Prashant Amrutkar, Accounts Officer Savita Jampawad, Examination and Evaluation Board Director Dr. Bharti Gawali, and 62 members were present. In total, 12 various subjects were discussed during the meeting, with a question-and-answer session held from 12:30 pm to 1:20 pm. Management Council member Dr. Bharat Khandare presented the budget, which was sanctioned after a discussion in the afternoon. Finance and Accounts Officer Savita Jampawad, Deputy Registrar Dr. Sanjay Kawade, Nitin Patil, Ravindra Deshmukh, and others contributed to the preparation and presentation of the budget.

The provisions made in the budget included:

Marathi Bhasha Divas: Rs 5 lakh

University Research and Development Cell: Rs 1 lakh

Micro Research Project Funds for affiliated colleges: Rs 50 lakh

Minor Research Project Funds for the Education Department: Rs 50 lakh

Camps, conferences, research seminars, and exhibitions: Rs 10 lakh

College-level seminars and conferences: Rs 5 lakh

Conference tours (for teachers/non-teachers): Rs 10 lakh

Avishkar Cell: Rs 25 lakh

Indian Constitution Golden Jubilee Year Celebration: Rs 5 lakh

Shivrai Coronation Festival: Rs 1 lakh

University Reading Project: Rs 25 lakh

Mentor-Mentee Program: Rs 10 lakh

Vikasit Bharat 2027 Awareness Project: Rs 20 lakh

Significance of the Budget
Expected Income: Rs 332.73 crore (salaries grants: Rs 91.23 crore, development and independent projects scheme and other grants: Rs 118.13 crore, income from various other sources: Rs 123.37 crore).
Expected Expenditure: Rs 345.37 crore (granted salaries: Rs 91.23 crore, development and independent schemes: Rs 118.13 crore, general funds: Rs 145.01 crore).
Total Deficit: Rs 21.64 crore (Rs 12.86 crore last year’s expected deficit and Rs 6.11 crore deficit for this year).
