Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The caste system is so dominant in the Bundelkhand region that Dalits are not allowed to ride a horse in this place.

But Baba Bageshwar Dham, Pandit Dhirendra Shashtri, conveyed a message at a mass wedding ceremony held in Bageshwar Dham, Chhatarpur, on Wednesday.

To remove the caste barriers, Shashtri brought 251 horses for 251 bridegrooms. Each of them rode a horse and reached the tent where their brides were waiting with garlands to tie the knot.

For the first time, such an event took place in the Bundelkhand region, and that, too, in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu. Food was arranged for 20 lakh people who were served 13 types of dishes.

The grand feast featured an elaborate menu that included traditional and festive delicacies such as crispy Jalebis, rich and sweet Malpua, flavorful Pulaw, and creamy Matar Paneer. Guests were also served Kashmiri Aloo Dum, aromatic Dal Tadka, and a variety of breads, including soft plain Puri and nutritious Palak Puri. To complement the meal, Bundi Raita was prepared, adding a refreshing touch to the spread. The dessert section was equally lavish, offering delectable Rabri, classic Halwa, and an astounding five lakh pieces of Rasogullas, which were specially procured from Rajasthan to enhance the festive experience.

According to Raja Thakur, the in-charge of the kitchen, a dedicated team of 400 skilled cooks and helpers worked tirelessly to prepare this massive feast. Every dish was meticulously crafted to ensure quality and taste, catering to the large gathering that attended the grand event.
