Yogi government has given a big blow to the jailed SP leader Azam Khan. In the cabinet meeting, the government has snatched the land given to Azam Khan’s Johar University. During the SP government, Azam had given the entire campus including the building of Murtaza Higher Secondary School in Rampur to Maulana Mohammad Johar Trust on a 99-year lease. The annual rent for this 3825 square meter property worth around Rs 100 crore was fixed at only Rs 100.

For this, Azam Khan had also signed an agreement with the Secondary Education Department, but now the government has canceled the lease alleging violation of the terms of this agreement. The cabinet meeting was held at Lok Bhavan at 11 am on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In this meeting, about a dozen proposals from various departments were discussed, in which the proposal for this land from the Education Department was also included. Considering this proposal, the government has decided to take back the land in one fell swoop.
