Ayodhya: For the first time since the consecration ceremony, the grand wedding procession from Ayodhya to Janakpur returned with Goddess Sita after the divine marriage, receiving a majestic reception from the people of Ayodhya.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and devotion as residents showered flowers and lit fireworks to celebrate the return of their revered deities, Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. It felt as though Ayodhya had transcended to the Treta Yuga, witnessing the divine couple’s homecoming.

Around 12:30 PM, Lord Ram, accompanied by his brothers Lakshman, Bharat, and Shatrughna, along with Goddess Sita, rode on a chariot through Ayodhya’s streets, followed by a grand procession. Hundreds of devotees joined the procession, which commenced from Saket College.
At a petrol pump near the route, the pilgrimage priests’ charity service trust, led by Rajesh Maharaj, organized a grand reception. Later, under the leadership of Durgesh Pandey, chairman of the Pilgrimage Priests’ Social Service Trust, hundreds of devotees showered flowers, performed aarti, and garlanded the wedding party.

As the procession reached the main entrance of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, saints, priests, and citizens of Ayodhya welcomed the deities with grandeur. The celebrations included fireworks, flower showers, and distribution of holy offerings (prasad).
Devotees danced joyously to devotional songs played by the DJ, celebrating the divine return. The procession gradually made its way through the main roads to Karsevak Puram, where another grand reception awaited. After performing aarti, the devotees returned to their homes, filled with spiritual bliss.

“India and Janakpur’s bond will remain eternal”: Dr. Anil Mishra
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anil Mishra, Trustee of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, emphasized the ancient bond between Ayodhya and Janakpur, dating back to the Treta Yuga.
“This relationship has remained unbroken through the ages. After the consecration, for the first time, Lord Ram and his brothers arrived in Janakpur with the wedding procession, receiving a magnificent reception. Following the divine marriage on Vivah Panchami, they returned to Ayodhya, where the citizens welcomed them with unparalleled joy,” he said.
Dr. Mishra highlighted the cultural and spiritual ties between India and Nepal, affirming, “The deep-rooted bond between the two nations will remain intact. The consecration has heightened our enthusiasm, as Lord Ram has finally been enshrined at his birthplace after a long struggle.”
Ayodhya residents celebrate with devotion and joy
Ayodhya Mayor Girishpati Tripathi expressed his pride in participating in the divine wedding in Janakpur and welcoming the procession back to Ayodhya. “We were fortunate to witness the divine wedding in Janakpur, where we received a warm reception from the people of Nepal. Today, as the procession returned with Goddess Sita, Ayodhya’s residents laid out a grand welcome with unmatched devotion,” he stated.
The celebrations marked a historic spiritual event, reinforcing the timeless connection between India and Nepal while filling Ayodhya’s streets with divine joy and reverence.
