Axis Bank has announced a significant overhaul of its Vistara Credit Card benefits following Vistara’s merger with Air India. These changes will take effect from April 18, 2025, impacting all card renewals from this date onward.

No More Annual Fee but Perks Discontinued

One of the most notable changes is the waiver of the annual fee for cardholders renewing on or after April 18, 2025. However, this comes at the cost of losing some valuable benefits.

Benefits Being Discontinued

No Complimentary Maharaja Club Membership: The card will no longer offer free membership to Vistara’s elite loyalty program.

No More Renewal Ticket Vouchers: Cardholders will not receive complimentary flight vouchers upon renewal.

Milestone Benefits Eliminated: Previously, customers were rewarded with free flight tickets upon reaching spending milestones. This benefit is being discontinued.

Maharaja Points to Continue with Restrictions

While customers will still be able to earn Maharaja Points on eligible spending, the redemption process will align with Air India’s Maharaja Club program. However, several transactions will now be excluded from earning these points:

– Rent payments

– Wallet loads

– Utility bill payments

– Government services

– Insurance premiums

– Purchases of gold, silver, jewelry, watches, and precious metals

What Stays the Same?

Despite these reductions, some benefits will remain unchanged:

– The card will still be valid for domestic and international transactions, including online and in-store purchases.

– Lounge access, golf privileges, and select dining offers will continue.

Illustrative Scenario: How It Affects Cardholders

Before April 18, 2025: A customer renewing on March 25, 2025, will still be charged an annual fee and receive the usual perks like free tickets, milestone benefits, and Maharaja Points.

On or After April 18, 2025: A cardholder renewing on April 25, 2025, will not have to pay an annual fee but will no longer receive free ticket vouchers, elite-tier memberships, or milestone-based rewards.

Changes to IDFC First Bank’s Club Vistara Credit Card

IDFC First Bank has also announced adjustments to its Club Vistara co-branded credit card. Starting April 1, 2025, milestone benefits will be discontinued. However, customers can continue earning Maharaja Points until March 31, 2026, when the card will be completely phased out.

These updates mark a major shift for Vistara credit cardholders, making it essential for them to reassess their travel and reward strategies.
