At the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics, she won the medal and created history by becoming India’s first female shooter in the shooting category.

After a road accident in 2012, she became dependent on the wheelchair, but her father encouraged her to participate in sports so that she could be physically and mentally healthy. Avni, who did not give up, started archery and then started shooting in 2015. He got this inspiration from India’s first Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra.

Avni was a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya 3 (Jaipur), where she won her first gold medal in the regional shooting match.
