Dancer-actress Avneet Kaur, who rose to fame with her participation in Dance India Dance Li’l Masters and later appeared in the 2014 film Mardaani alongside Rani Mukerji, recently recalled a shocking incident from Holi where a guy misbehaved with her, leading her to hit him with a bat in anger.

Speaking to Hauterrfly, Kaur said, “During Holi, I told a boy not to hit me. Despite my warning, he threw a water balloon at my bum. I thought, ‘Bete, tu toh gaya. Pehle toh tune dekha nahi ki kitni khatarnak ladki hoon.’ I grabbed a bat and gave him a good beating.”

She added, “Fir uss ladke ki mummy aayi thi mere mummy ke paas, ‘Aapki ladki ne mere ladke ko dho diya.’ Mummy ne bola, ‘Kyuki usne dhone wala kaam kiya. Aur kya karein?'”

Further, Avneet recalled being trolled in school due to her Lifebuoy advertisement, stating, “Whenever I passed through my school’s corridor, people would say, ‘Aye, Bunty, tera sabun…’ That was very traumatising at the time, and I would not speak to a lot of people. So, everyone would assume I had an attitude just because I was a star. Mein hu hi aise, par logon ko kaun batayega. It affected my confidence, and it was very irritating. I remember telling my mom that people thought I had an attitude.”

“The most stupid rumour in school was, ‘Avneet ke teeth bohot white hai, and yeh teen baar brush karti hai.; If you have white teeth, it’s really stupid to assume that,” she concluded.

On the work front, Avneet will be seen next in Love in Vietnam and Hollywood film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Recording.
