Ahmedabad: A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat, in which an auto driver brutally murdered the ride for not paying the rent. This incident is being reported near the Navrangpura region. The accused driver has been arrested by the police, while the deceased youth has not been identified yet.
Accident occurred late in Navarangpura
The incident took place around 12:20 pm on Monday night when an auto driver asked a person standing on the road where he wanted to go. The person said to go to Kalupur railway station. At this, the driver agreed to leave him till Navrangpura.
When the auto reached Navrangpura, the driver asked for the fare, but the ride did not have the money. The driver got so angry at this that he first hit the young man with auto and then escaped by crushing him. The young man died on the spot in the accident.
Accused confessed crime, police identifying the deceased
The police first seemed to be a hit and run, but the suspicion deepened after investigating the scene and scanning CCTV footage. The police soon caught the auto driver and questioned. During interrogation, the accused admitted the murder.
At present, the biggest challenge before the police is to identify the deceased, because the deceased did not get any identity card or mobile phone. The police is now matching the missing reports in local police stations.
