Nagpur: Amid the demand of some organizations to remove the tomb of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, senior RSS leader Bhaiyaji Joshi said on Monday that the issue has been raised unnecessarily. During an event in Nagpur, an RSS leader said that Aurangzeb died here, so his grave is here. Those who believe will go to the tomb. He said that the tomb of Afzal Khan in Pratapgarh was also built with the permission of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It is a symbol of our generosity.
RSS leader Bhaiyaji Joshi said in Nagpur that Afzal Khan, the commander of Bijapur Sultanate, was buried near Pratapgarh Fort and it was not possible without the permission of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Regarding Raj Thackeray’s remarks on Gudi Padwa, Joshi said that the issue of Aurangzeb’s grave is unnecessary. Since he died in India, his grave is located here. Those who believe in him can go. Bhaiyaji, the general secretary of the RSS, clarified that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is our ideal. He built Afzal Khan’s tomb. It is a symbol of India’s generosity and inclusion. Even if the grave remains left, whatever you want to go can go. It is noteworthy that Raj Thackeray had warned not to rely on misleading historical stories and WhatsApp messages at the Gudi Padwa rally in Mumbai and advised to get historical information from reliable sources rather than social media. He termed Aurangzeb’s tomb dispute as a political stunt and said that people are being deviated from the real issue. Raj Thackeray said that Aurangzeb tried to end Shivaji’s ideology but failed. Thackeray criticized divisive politics and said that people have started worrying about the tombs leaving the problem of trees and water. Whether or not people like the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb or not, its tomb is a protected monument. But his glorification will not be allowed, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in clear words.
In fact, it has been preserved by the Central Archeology Department. Talking to reporters in Nagpur, Fadnavis said that the constructions outside the purview of the law would have to be removed. The right -wing organization, including the Shiv Sena, Chhatrapati is demanding the removal of the grave of the 17th century Mughal ruler in Khulatabad town of Sambhajinagar district.
Violence erupted in Nagpur this month, when a rumor spread that a sheet with sacred inscriptions was burnt during the protests by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad to remove a tomb.
Fadnavis, in an article criticizing the new education policy 2020, rejected the comments of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and alleged that the Center was using it to make education communal.
