There is a political uproar these days over the tomb of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb in Maharashtra. Recently, there were incidents of violent clashes, sabotage and arson between two communities over the dispute over the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb in Nagpur. This violent incident has rejected the issue not only in the state but across the country. The Bajrang Dal and many other organizations protested to demand the removal of Aurangzeb, after which the situation deteriorated and the situation became violent.

Uddhav Thackeray’s taut: “What work did politics do on 300 year old grave?”

The case has also taken a big form politically. Former Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray said on the issue, “What is such a work on the one who has died 300 years ago?” Targeting the BJP government, he also said that if the BJP government really wants to remove Aurangzeb’s grave, then it must be removed, but in this ceremony, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu should be called. Thackeray made this comment on the two allies of the BJP who have been doing politics of Muslim vote bank, but the dispute has been silent.

History of Aurangzeb: Born in Gujarat, dead in Maharashtra

Uddhav Thackeray explored the history of Aurangzeb while attacking the BJP. He said Aurangzeb was born in Dahod, Gujarat, and he was dead in 1707 near Bhinger, Maharashtra. Thackeray said, “Aurangzeb had come to win Maharashtra, but he could not win even a grain of Maharashtra, but Maharashtra gave him a handful of soil.” With this statement, Thackeray made it clear that he would not show any support from Shiva lovers to Aurangzeb.

Attack on the central government: “Who is Aurangzeb?”

Thackeray questioned the BJP and the central government, “If the central government is protecting Aurangzeb’s grave, I ask, who is your Aurangzeb?” He questioned the policy of the central government through this statement and also asked whether the government of “double engine” is doing anything other than just talking?

Aditya Thackeray’s charge: BJP wants to make Maharashtra Manipur

Uddhav Thackeray’s son and Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray also reacted to the issue. He accused the BJP that he was giving a lot of Aurangzeb’s tomb dispute to divert attention from the failures of the state government. Aditya accused the BJP of trying to “make Maharashtra Manipur”. He said, “Sadly, when the BJP is unable to rule, they take the support of violence and riots.

Apart from political dispute, political atmosphere also heated

This entire controversy has not only created political rhetoric, but also communal tension in the state. The politics of Aurangzeb’s tomb has raised many questions about this issue from the internal politics of Maharashtra to communal harmony across the country.
