Senior RSS leader Suresh ‘Bhaiyaji’ Joshi has given a shocking statement amid the demand for Mughal ruler Aurangzeb’s tomb to be removed. He said, ‘This issue is being raised unnecessarily. The one who believes will go to the grave.

Speaking to the media during an event in Nagpur, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Bhaiyaji Joshi said, “The issue of Aurangzeb’s grave has been unnecessarily raised. If he died here. So his grave will also be here. The one who has faith will go. It is noteworthy that Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has condemned efforts to incite communal tension on Aurangzeb’s tomb, saying that ‘history should not be seen from the glasses of caste and religion’.

People who have faith will go there.

Joshi further said, ‘Afzal Khan, a commander of Bijapur rule, was buried near Pratapgarh Fort and it could not be done without the permission of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is our ideal. He built Afzal Khan’s tomb. It is a symbol of India’s generosity and inclusion. There will be a grave, whoever wants to go, will go. On the issue of Raj Thackeray’s comment and the tomb of the Mughal ruler, Joshi said, “The theme of Aurangzeb’s grave is unnecessarily raised.” He died here (in India), so his tomb is made here. People who have faith will go there.

We are not worried about trees and water, but we are worried about graves: Thackeray

Addressing the annual Gudi Padwa rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, Raj Thackeray warned against misleading historical stories and WhatsApp messages and emphasized that history should be studied with reliable sources rather than social media. Raj Thackeray criticized the political efforts to create controversy over Aurangzeb’s tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Due to which violence erupted in Nagpur. He said, “We are not worried about water sources and trees.” But there is concern about Aurangzeb’s tomb. Efforts are being made to fight people in the name of history. These issues are being raised to increase communal conflict.

Thackeray highlighted history

Thackeray emphasized that the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb fought against the Marathas in Maharashtra for 27 years. He tried to crush the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj but finally failed. Aurangzeb also wanted to destroy Shivaji’s idea. Even after the death of Shivaji Maharaj, Aurangzeb failed to end his ideology in Maharashtra. Shivaji’s son Sambhaji Maharaj also gave shelter to Aurangzeb’s son while running away from Agra.
