Excited about his forthcoming endeavour Azaad, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn stressed on how things have changed in terms of one being thoroughly professional in the industry. At the trailer launch event held at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios, the 55-year-old actor talked about the evolution of the audience as well.

“Back in the day, we used to work and learn simultaneously on any film. There was much time and liberty to learn many things. The audience was forgiving, and our mistakes were overlooked. But the audience today is much more aware and unforgiving. That mounts so much expectations on the current crop of actors or the upcoming actors. They have to be prepared and have to deliver from the word go!”

“I think this generation is far more prepared too. One strives to give their best in the end,” added Ajay.

Ajay is fond of horses and remembers the days when Bollywood films would feature horses. “Oh, there were many films that would have horses in them. Hum toh ghode pey hee lage rehte theey uss zamane mein, but I got to work with horses after a long time in Tanhaji, which was released in the recent past, and then we have Azaad,” expeesed Ajay.

About his favourite “horse story,” Ajay recounted how a certain Charlie would give a tough time to everyone. “There was this horse called Charlie who is no more sadly; woh special is liye bhi that kyuki uski chaak tedhi thi (laughs!) and he wouldn’t let any actor from the industry sit on him; not even a stunt guy would ride him. But I would ride Charlie and he was gentle to me,” recounted Devgn.

Director Abhishek Kapoor, who is launching Amaan Devgn and Rasha Thadani with Azaad, stressed that this film is not a project to launch Star Kids, but a product of sheer passion and storytelling. “Ajay Devgn is the most secure actor in the industry. I have worked with so many stars, but Mr. Devgn is totally secure in his place and position,” said Abhishek about working with Ajay.
