Attention! Tourists Banned At Vasota Fort And Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, Koyna Reservoir Area From Dec 30 To January 1 |

Tourism in the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve area, including Vasota Fort, which doubles the joy of nature lovers, hikers, and tourists in the Koyna Reservoir area, has been banned from December 30 to January 1, informed Vijay Bathe, Forest Range Officer of Bamnoli Forest Range in the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve.

Vasota Fort is located in the nature-rich core area of Koyna Sanctuary and Sahyadri Tiger Reserve in the western part of Satara district. This fort always fascinates trekkers, fort lovers, and nature enthusiasts. On holidays, a large number of tourists flock to this fort. Tourists leave their homes in large numbers to bid farewell to the passing year.

In that context, since Vasota Fort falls within the core area of the Wildlife Department, to prevent any damage to the natural resources due to the increase in the number of tourists in this area, entry has been banned for security reasons from December 30 to January 1.

Similar instructions have been given to boating organizations transporting tourists from the Koyna reservoir. If anyone is found illegally in the Vasota Fort and the sanctuary area from December 30 to January 1, legal action will be taken against them, informed Vijay Bathe, Forest Range Officer of Bamnoli Forest Range.
