After the attack on the house of Bollywood actor and Nawab Pataudi Saif Ali Khan, questions are being raised on the security arrangements of Mumbai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reacted to this incident. Fadnavis, who also holds the charge of Maharashtra Home Minister, called it a serious incident and said the police investigation was ongoing.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “The attack on Saif Ali Khan is a serious incident, but it would be wrong to call Mumbai unsafe. Our government is taking every possible step to keep Mumbai among the safest cities in the country. Police are investigating the matter thoroughly and the culprits will be caught soon.”
Fadnavis also said that it is not appropriate to make statements that tarnish the image of Mumbai due to such incidents.
Sanjay Raut and opposition’s attack
After this incident the opposition targeted the BJP government. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) leader Sanjay Raut said that Saif Ali Khan and his family had recently met PM Modi, and after this incident, the increasing courage of criminals is clearly visible. He demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Fadnavis.

According to the preliminary investigation of the police, the attacker quietly entered Saif Ali Khan’s house and attacked him with a knife. The attacker escaped using the stairs. Footage of the suspect has been found in the CCTV camera installed on the sixth floor of the building.
After the attack, Saif Ali Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital at 3 am. According to doctors, he has suffered a deep injury near his spinal cord, but after surgery his condition is stable and he is out of danger.
Demand of opposition leaders
After the incident, opposition leaders demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Fadnavis. He alleged that the morale of criminals in the state is high and the police administration is failing to stop crime.
