Mumbai will witness an extraordinary wildlife photography exhibition that will offer a rare glimpse into India’s natural treasures, captured during my ambitious journey across all 55 tiger reserves in the country. ATR (All Tiger Reserves) Through the Lens will be on display at the Jehangir Art Gallery from December 11 to 15.
The ATR Through the Lens project is the result of a six-and-a-half-month expedition covering over 37,000 kilometers by Aarzoo Khurana, a wildlife photographer and lawyer. The exhibition showcases breathtaking moments of India’s biodiversity including majestic tigers, serene landscapes, and other wildlife species that have been shot through a lens that celebrates conservation and storytelling. The aim is to highlight the urgent need for environmental preservation while inspiring people to connect with nature.
The exhibition’s debut in Delhi’s Bikaner House in September garnered immense appreciation and saw participation from distinguished personalities like Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav and Justice B. R. Gavai, Judge, Supreme Court of India. Former chief justices of India T. S. Thakur and S. A. Bobde had also attended the event along with Justice Prakash Srivastava, Chairman, National Green Tribunal (NGT). Bollywood actor Adil Hussain and top forest officials from across the country had also joined the exhibition.
“Taking this exhibition to Mumbai allows us to bring this conservation narrative to one of India’s most vibrant cities, where art and activism often intersect. The exhibition will feature carefully curated images that narrate the diversity and challenges of wildlife conservation across the country,” said Khurana.
Through this visual journey, the photographer aims to inspire collective responsibility for conservation, engage audiences with stories from India’s rich and varied ecosystems and foster discussions about the importance of preserving our natural heritage.
