The Aam Aadmi Party has appointed Kalkaji MLA Atishi as the Leader of the Opposition for the Delhi Legislative Assembly. This decision was taken in the legislative party meeting. Today, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and 22 party MLAs were present in the Legislature Party meeting, in which all gave their consent on the name of Atishi. The first session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly will start from 24 February. In the three -day session, the ruling BJP government has said that the CAG report pending on the previous AAP government’s performance will be presented in the House. This time many prominent leaders of the party including AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia also lost the election.
On being made the Leader of Opposition, Kalkaji MLA Atishi said that I am thankful to AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal that he gave me the responsibility of the legislative party (as opposition leader). The public has entrusted us the responsibility of the opposition and we will show how strong the opposition is.
On being made Atishi as the Leader of Opposition, Gopal Rai said that in the meeting of the Legislature Party today, it has been decided unanimously that Atishi will be made the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly. Atishi has served the people of Delhi as the Chief Minister in a challenging time. You will take responsibility of a healthy opposition.
On Atishi’s decision to give Rs 2500 to the women of Delhi, Atishi said that the BJP’s new cabinet meeting was held, but the plan to give Rs 2500 to the women did not pass. We promise that under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana from Rekha Gupta’s government, two and a half thousand rupees will be provided to women. All the leaders, including Atishi, are constantly besieging the BJP government of Delhi regarding this scheme.
The session of Delhi Assembly will start on 24 February i.e. Monday. This time, the Leader of the Opposition will also be a woman in front of CM Rekha Gupta. This will be the first time in the history of Delhi Assembly that women will play the role of both the Chief Minister and the Leader of the Opposition. Rekha will be seen in the house against Atishi. Rekha Gupta is an MLA from Shalimar Bagh while Atishi won from Kalkaji seat. Atishi defeated Ramesh Bidhuri, while Rekha Gupta defeated AAP MLA Bandana Kumari.
