Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty and Team India cricketer KL Rahul welcomed their first child — a baby girl — two years after marriage. On Monday, the new parents took everyone by surprise as they announced the arrival of their little one on social media.
Athiya and Rahul shared a joint post on Instagram which read, “Blessed with a baby girl… 24.03.2025 (sic).”
Congratulatory wishes poured in for the couple as soon as they shared the news. Among the first ones to congratulate them and shower love on them were Kiara Advani, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Mrunal Thakur and others.
It is to be noted that Rahul’s Indian Premiere League team, Delhi Capitals, clashed with Lucknow Super Giants on Monday, however, the batsman-wicketkeeper gave it a miss to be by his wife’s side.
Athiya and KL Rahul tied the knot in January 2023, at the actress’ father Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala in an intimate ceremony. The wedding was attended by family and close friends. Reportedly, the duo met in a through a common friend and started dating.
On the work front, Athiya made her acting debut in 2015 with the film Hero, which starred Sooraj Pancholi in the lead. Later, she starred in Mubarakan alongside Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Athiya Shetty, Neha Sharma, and Ratna Pathak Shah, among others.
She was last seen in Motichoor Chaknachoor which released in 2019, also featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Rahul, on the other hand, recently played a crucial role in Team India lifting the Champions Trophy against New Zealand. After missing his team’s first IPL match on Monday, he is expected to return to the pitch soon.
