The Assamese mother-daughter Urimala Borua and Snigdha Borua have a tail from a small village in Assam and recently joined Kansa 2025 to join the Bandwagan, which represented their state and country.
Entrepreneur and filmmaker Urmimala, her daughter Snigdha, ‘UMB pageants: Miss An Mrs. India’ co-founder, went on a red carpet in a shiny gown. Snigdha Barua said, “It is incredible that we made such a small start and now we are here in Cannes.”
The gown of Urmimala is based on the banyan tree which is the oldest tree in the world, which symbolizes our roots and fundamental qualities of man. Meanwhile, her daughter Snigdha wore an attractive gown with an Asian fan shape – which is a symbol of the vibrant cultural history of Asia. This dress is a love letter, which is the great beauty of Asia and a tribute to innumerable cultures. Urimala said: “We should always run after our dreams.” She often talked about the rich culture of Assam and said that it should find a place on the world map. Inspired by her mother’s strongness, Snigdha took her first acting class in her village and nurtured her passion under the supervision of her mother.
