VIDEO: Assam MLA Starts Beating Person After Red Ribbon Was Missing While Laying The Foundation Stone Of A Bridge | x

Bilasipara: A video of Samsul Huda the MLA from East Bilasipara Assembly constituency of Dhubri district of Assam beating a person during a foundation stone laying ceremony of a bridge is making rounds on the internet. Samsul Huda is an MLA from Badruddin Ajmal’s party AIDUF.

The MLA was invited to cut the ribbon for the foundation stone laying ceremony. For this, a pink ribbon was tied between two banana plants. But the MLA got agitated over the fact that there was no red ribbon for the foundation stone laying ceremony. The video is said to be of Tuesday (March 18).

It can be seen in the video that the furious MLA grabs the collar of a person standing nearby. He then slaps him and then uproots both the banana plants planted for the foundation stone laying ceremony and starts beating him with it.

The person who is seen getting beaten by the legislator is said to be a colleague of the bridge contractor and has been identified as Sahidur Rahman.

Speaking to India Today North East, Rahman said reacting to the incident, “I was just carrying out my duties when MLA Huda, without any provocation, assaulted me. I never expected such treatment from a public representative. It was humiliating and painful.”

There are no reports of any police action in connection with the matter.
