Bail granted to Asaram: The Supreme Court on Tuesday (January 7) granted interim bail to Asaram in the rape case. Relief has been given in the 2013 rape case on health grounds. Asaram has been granted interim bail till March 31. Along with this, the court has directed Asaram that he will not meet his followers after coming out of jail on interim bail.
Bail is given with these conditions
The Supreme Court said, ‘Asaram will be given escort of three policemen. There will be a condition that he will not tamper with the evidence. Also, he will not be allowed to meet his followers en masse. It is noteworthy that this decision is related to Asaram rape case of Gujarat. In which he was sentenced to life imprisonment. However, he is still in custody in connection with the case registered in Rajasthan.
In January 2023, Asaraman was convicted by the Sessions Court in the 2013 rape case. A woman had complained about the matter. At the time of this crime she was living in an ashram near Gandhinagar.
