New Delhi: Has former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal dropped his favourite icon Bhagat Singh for Mahatma Gandhi and Gautam Buddha for the ensuing Delhi Assembly Elections?
In a recent video shared on Aam Admi Party’s official X page (formerly Twitter), the former Delhi chief minister spoke to residents regarding the increasing problem of unemployment as he gears up for Delhi election campaigns, assuring voters that he and his team will create jobs for the youth.
In the backdrop of the video, where the former CM addresses Delhi amidst state elections promising to resolve the unemployment issue, there are two statues representing his ideals, one of Mahatma Gandhi to the left of the screen and another of Buddha to the right. There are speculations of him having changed ideals yet again from Hanuman to Bhagat Singh and Dr BR Ambedkar now to embracing the idealism of Buddha and Gandhi.
Previously, when the ex-chief minister of Delhi was imprisoned for five months summoned by the ED regarding the Delhi liquor case, Kejriwal had sent messages from jail which were shared by his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, a former IRS officer, in video clips posted on AAP’s X page.
In those videos, photo frames of Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar appeared in the background, emphasizing them as ideals, while in one clip, a photo frame showing Kejriwal behind bars was highlighted.
