Kerala Court issues warrant against Baba Ramdev: A Kerala court has issued a bailable warrant against yoga guru Baba Ramdev and his associate Acharya Balakrishna in a misleading advertising case. According to the information, Judicial First Class Magistrate has issued warrant against Baba Ramdev, Balkrishna and Divya Pharmacy. The Drug Inspector of Palakkad has filed a complaint in this matter. Based on his complaint, a case was registered under Section 3(D) and Section 7(A) of the Drugs and Miracle Cures i.e. Objectionable Advertisements Act, 1954.

 

Now the hearing will be held on 1st February

The order given by the Magistrate Court on January 16 said, ‘The complainant is absent. All the accused are absent. Bailable warrants have been issued for all the accused. As per the case status on the Palakkad District Court website, the hearing will now take place on February 1.

 

Other claims were made earlier also

This is not the first time that Baba Ramdev has been sued for advertising his various products. Even before this, the Doctors Association had opposed him after he claimed to cure Corona. Apart from this he has also been prosecuted for claiming to cure AIDS and homosexuality.

 

Supreme Court also reprimanded Patanjali

Actually IMA has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. In which it was said, he is campaigning against Covid vaccine and allopathy and making false claims about Ayurvedic medicines. Patanjali was also accused of breaking the law. Patanjali’s advertisements published in print media were also opposed. The Supreme Court reprimanded him for not following the court’s instructions.
