Kishtwar encounter: In Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces conducted a major operation against the terrorists. Starting on 9 April, 3 terrorists have been killed in this joint operation. In which 2 terrorists were killed late Friday and 1 terrorist was killed this morning.
A reward of 5 lakh rupees on all three terrorists
According to media reports, a top commander of Jaish is also among the slain terrorists. All three had a reward of 5 lakh rupees. This operation is going on in Chatru Jungle area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The army and other security forces jointly carried out the operation.
Helicopters and drones were also deployed.
The operation included 2, 5 and 9 para commandos, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police in this operation. Taking advantage of dense forests, terrorists often try to infiltrate and attack. Therefore, this campaign was run in dense forests. The army has also deployed helicopters and drones to search for terrorists. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from the encounter sites.
5 encounters in 19 days
Police and security forces have been monitoring the activities of terrorists in these mountainous areas for the last 19 days. There have been 5 encounters in these days, out of which 3 have been held in Kathua, 1 in Udhampur and 1 in Kishtwar districts. 2 terrorists were killed in an encounter on March 27 while 4 policemen were killed. Three policemen, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police, were injured in this encounter. Officials said that security has been tightened on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and vehicles are being investigated.
Commander praised the security forces
Northern Command Commander Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar has praised the army’s commitment to keep the country free from terror. The Northern Army posted on social media that General MV Suchindra Kumar has praised the action of the White Night Core for killing the terrorist in Kishtwar. The Lieutenant General said that the Indian Army is committed to keeping Jammu and Kashmir free from terrorism.
