Gurdaspur: At around 9.30 pm, armed robbers cut the grill of a goldsmith’s house located on Kahanuwan Road and entered the house. Meanwhile, the robbers injured the goldsmith by hitting him on the head and looted his wife’s jewellery. Meanwhile, the goldsmith’s wife called her nephew to the spot. The family members came face to face with the robbers but the robbers managed to escape. It is learned that the robbers also took away the goldsmith’s pistol. Seriously injured goldsmith Ram Lubhaya has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. The goldsmith’s nephew was also injured in the clash with the robbers. As soon as information about the incident was received, police station city reached the spot and started investigation. Sanstha Ram Lubhaya is the President of District Sunyara Association, while M.sh Verma is the District President of District Sunyara Association.
Praveen Lata, wife of goldsmith Ram Lubhaya, told that at around 1.15 pm she heard some sounds from outside. When he removed the window curtain, he saw four people sitting in the courtyard. They had sticks and weapons in their hands. He immediately informed his nephews M.sh Verma and Gaurav Verma over phone. Meanwhile, her husband also got up and seeing the robbers entering the house, he took out his licensed pistol. Meanwhile, the robbers entered the room by breaking the door latch and looted her gold jewellery. Meanwhile, the robbers hit her husband on the head with a weapon and seriously injured him.
Praveen Lata’s nephew Gaurav Verma told that his brother M.sh Verma also got head injury in the clash with the robbers. He told that in the night he got a call from his father-in-law that some people had entered the house.
On the other hand, police station in-charge Gurmeet Singh, who reached the spot as soon as information about the incident was received, said that the police received information at 1.29 pm that some robbers had entered the house.
