Mumbai: A New Year’s celebration at Mira Road took a tragic turn when a heated argument escalated into a violent confrontation. A disagreement arose between two groups arguing over whether to play Marathi or Bhojpuri songs, leading to the death of one person. The incident occurred around 3 am on January 1 at a MHADA housing complex.
On Thursday, a 23-year-old man named Raja Periyar sustained injuries during the altercation and later died from injuries inflicted by an iron rod. Another man, Vipal Rai, was also seriously injured in the clash. Both individuals were taken to KEM Hospital in Mumbai, where Raja Periyar ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The police have arrested Ashish Jadhav and his relatives, Prakash Jadhav, Amit Jadhav, and Pramod Yadav, for allegedly assaulting a person named Periyar.
