Because, as soon as Sri Lankan Airlines aircraft landed at Colombo Airport, security forces surrounded the aircraft. Security forces also conducted a search operation inside the aircraft.

Information was provided to Colombo Airport from Chennai region control. It was reported that 6 terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack were riding in a Sri Lankan Airlines flight from Chennai to Colombo. On receiving this information, the Sri Lankan security forces surrounded the aircraft at Colombo Airport and started a search operation.

Alert was issued from Chennai to Colombo.

A statement issued by the Sri Lanka administration said that alert has been received from Chennai Area Control. An immediate search operation was started. The alert raised doubts that 6 terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack were about to reach there. After this the aircraft was tightened. The flight was then approved.
