The air of the national capital Delhi has become extremely poisonous these days. The air quality has been deteriorating for the last several days but now there are reports of some improvement. AQI in Delhi has gone below 500 on Wednesday morning. Delhi’s air quality has again fallen into the “severe” category after being in the “severe plus” category.
Despite the reduction in pollution, about a dozen of the 38 stations are still in the “severe plus” category.

Stations like Rohini, Wazirpur, Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Bawana, Narela, Mundka, Alipore, Jahangir Puri, Sonia Vihar and Ashok Vihar are still recording 24-hour average AQI above 450. This means that despite pollution levels improving from about 24 hours ago, the stations are still dangerously polluted.
AQI is 463 in Alipur, 454 in Anand Vihar, 457 in Ashok Vihar, 457 in Bawana, 463 in Mundka, 453 in Narela, 407 in Okhla Phase-2 and 440 in Punjabi Bagh.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh, Pusa, Rohini, Shadipur, Sonia Vihar, Vivek Vihar, Wazirpur, Alipore, Anand Vihar, Bawana, Jahangirpuri, Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, Narela, Nehru Nagar and Pratapganj. AQI level reached 500 in the areas. In view of the increasing levels of pollution, Delhi University and JNU have announced online classes.

The IMD has predicted dense fog on Wednesday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to be 24 and 12 degrees Celsius respectively.
