The Chief Minister said, “The state may have to suffer the consequences of successfully controlling the population in the state.” In addition, he warned that if the parliamentary seats were delimited on the basis of population, Tamil Nadu could suffer heavy losses.

The Chief Minister appealed to all political parties to forget their internal differences and attend the meeting and said that the issue of delimitation is very important for Tamil Nadu.
Politics heats up on language and demarcation

It is noteworthy that the delimitation process will start in the year 2026. If delimited on the basis of population, the number of Lok Sabha seats in the southern states may decrease and the number of seats in the northern states may increase. And the southern states are opposing it.
