Chandigarh: Intelligence agencies on Monday busted another Pakistan spy network. One person was arrested in Haryana’s Nuh for allegedly spying for Pakistan, reported India Today. Notably, it was the second arrest in two days in Nuh on charges of espionage.
A case has been registered in connection with the matter, including two employees of the Pakistani High Commission, reported the media house, quoting officials. The identity of the arrested person is not known yet.
It is the second arrest from the Nuh district in connection with the espionage racket. Earlier on Friday, a man named Armaan was also arrested in the district. Armaan allegedly provided sensitive information to Pakistan’s intelligence operatives.
In the past few days, several people, including a famous YouTuber, Jyoti Malhotra, have been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan. Notably, Malhotra was arrested in Hisar for her alleged links with a staffer at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish. She had reportedly travelled to Pakistan twice.
Reports also surfaced that Malhotra also visited Pahalgam, three months before the ghastly April 22 terror attack.
Earlier on in the day, Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF), arrested a businessman from Rampur for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and facilitating cross-border smuggling. The accused, identified as Shahzad, was taken into custody from Moradabad following intelligence about his suspected involvement in espionage and illicit trade.
On Friday, a 25-year-old student, Davendra Singh Dhillon, was also arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan. He was arrested in Haryana’s Kaithal for posting photos with weapons on his Facebook account. However, when his phone was scanned, authorities reportedly found that she shared sensitive information with handlers in Pakistan. Dhillon visited Pakistan in November last year.
