Hindu monks rally in Kolkata, demanding action against atrocities on Bangladeshi minorities | X
Kolkata: After JN Roy hospital in Kolkata, now a private hospital in Durgapur ‘boycotts’ admission of Bangladeshi patients due to the current atrocities on minorities residing in Bangladesh.
On the other hand, 50 different organizations of Hindu saint outfits on Thursday had organized a rally in Kolkata’s Esplanade area over the arrest of monk Chinmoy Krishna Das and atrocities on Hindus residing in Bangladesh.
The rally witnessed a significant turnout of saffron-robed saints and monks, including Swami Paramatmananda, president of Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti and Kartik Maharaj of Bharat Sevashram Sangh.
Addressing the gathering, Kartik Maharaj urged all Hindus cutting across political affiliations to stand together in solidarity for the Hindus and temples that are getting affected in Bangladesh.
“We have organized a ‘Lokkho Konthe Gita Path’ in Siliguri in North Bengal on December 15. People cutting across political affiliations are invited to join the programme. We will hold a meeting on Thursday night to decide upon our future actions against the atrocities that are taking place in Bangladesh. In the coming days, if the central government doesn’t listen to our demands and stand in support of Bengali Hindus, we will seal the border with Bangladesh,” said Kartik Maharaj amid chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and blowing of conches.
Swami Paramatmananda said, “The path in which Muhammad Yunus is walking is the path of destruction. Yunus should stop walking that path in order to save the Sanatani Hindus.”
Notably, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari along with few Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders were also present in the rally. Sayan Ghosh, who recently got affected while visiting Bangladesh, also attended the rally and said if needed, he will again go to the neighbouring country to help the affected Hindus there.
Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari said that the ‘Bengali Hindus’ should unite.
“What Yunus is doing there, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is doing here. Over here if a minority does a rally gets police permission easily. If a rally is called on Waqf board then permission is given but if Hindus call for a rally and BJP then we have to take permission from Calcutta High Court. The Bengali Hindus are still not united. On December 6 we will celebrate Shaurya Diwas. We had stopped trade for 24 hours and the situation became unfavourable in Bangladesh. If things continue like this we will permanently stop trade and people of Bangladesh will suffer,” added Adhikari. Adhikari also slammed a BNP leader for burning a saree made in India.
