Kanpur, May 14: Another case of death after a hair transplant at the same clinic has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Wednesday (May 14). As per reports, an engineer from Farrukhabad died after undergoing treatment at Empire Clinic. Earlier, an assistant engineer from Panki Power House had also died after treatment at the same clinic. The police have initiated a search operation to arrest Dr. Anushka Tiwari.

The engineer who has been identified as Mayank Katiyar (32) underwent a hair transplant at the Empire Clinic which is located in Keshavpuram. The doctor has fled, the nameplate and signboard of her clinic have also been removed. After repeated pleas for justice, Mayank’s mother and younger brother met the Police Commissioner who has assigned the case to Rawatpur police.

What Happened to Mayank?

Mayank who is a resident of Fatehgarh and a B.Tech graduate from PSIT was working in a private company and planning to start his own business in Kanpur. On November 18 last year, he visited Empire Clinic for a hair transplant.

He was called at around 8 AM and left the clinic around 2 PM. His younger brother Kushagra brought him back home to Fatehgarh by 5 PM.

Around midnight, Mayank complained of severe head pain. Dr. Anushka advised an injection.

Despite the injection, his condition did not improve. She then asked them to loosen his bandage. He suffered through the night in pain.

The next day, he developed facial swelling and severe chest pain. A heart specialist found no issue with his heart and advised them to consult Dr. Anushka again. However, Mayank’s condition worsened and he passed away on November 19.

For the last six months, the family has been trying to get justice by visiting police stations and senior officers, but no proper action was taken. Finally, on Tuesday, his mother demanded an FIR from the Police Commissioner.

Clinic Found Locked

The Empire Clinic is on the ground floor of a four-storey complex in Keshavpuram. The clinic board, which earlier read “Dental, Hair & Aesthetics,” has been taken down. Since the earlier death of engineer Vineet Dubey, the clinic has remained shut. The building’s guard confirmed that Dr. Anushka hasn’t been seen for several days. Her husband who is said to be a dentist also used to see patients at the same clinic.
