Raipur: Dr. Anil Dixit, Joint Director of ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stress Management (NIBSM) in Raipur, was awarded the prestigious Norman E. Borlaug Award at a ceremony held in Sangrur, Punjab.
The award was presented during the valedictory session of the 5th International Conference on “Navigating Unique Trends in Agricultural Research, Innovations, Engineering, Nutrition, and Technology (NUTRIENT-2025)” held on February 20-21.
Dr S S Gosal, Vice Chancellor Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana was the chief guest of this function. The international conference was jointly organized by Agri Meet foundation Bharat, PAU Ludhiana and others.
Dr Anil Dixit was the guest of honour for the international conference (NUTRIENT-2025) organized by BGGI, Sangrur Punjab affiliated to IKG Punjab Technical university Kapurthala. Dr Tanuja Shrivastava Director BGGI Sangrur and Dr Ankur Sharma Chief Secretary, Agri Meet Foundation Bharat were the present from the organizers.
More than 400 participants presented their research paper on various issues on recent development of agriculture and education.This award was given to Dr Dixit for his outstanding contribution and recognition made during the entire career for the development of agricultural technologies in the services of Indian farmers and policy makers.
Dr Anil Dixit received this prestigious Norman E Borlaug award for his outstanding contribution and recognition made during the entire career of more than 31 years in the field of agricultural sciences.
He has been conferred four fellowship awards for his outstanding significant contributions in the area of agronomy particularly in managing weeds through integrated weed management and herbicide technologies in crops and cropping systems and developed 20 weed management recommendations for major crops for the country in the past.
He has served the country in various capacities as member/chairman for national and international assignments. He has brought out a national monograph in the shape of Weed Atlas in two volumes for the entire nation and appreciated by the policy makers.
He has contributed a lot to linking scientists with farmers and contributed towards the transfer of agricultural technologies to the end-users and was awarded a lifetime achievement award last year.
Dr. Anil Dixit has received the most prestigious Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed ICAR National Award for outstanding work of tribal farming research in Chhattisgarh region. He has more than 300 publications to his credit and has been awarded four fellowships from national and international academies.
