Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wished Ramadan to the Muslim community at the Iftar ceremony held in Vijayawada and reiterated his commitment to the safety of Waqf properties. He said that the TDP government has always been dedicated to the welfare of minorities and protecting their rights.
Disputed order was canceled and improved
Chief Minister Naidu, while mentioning the dispute related to the Government Order (GO) 43, said that this order affected the functioning of the Waqf Board. He clarified,
“GO 43 caused unnecessary controversy, causing the matter to the court and the operation of the Waqf Board came to a standstill. As soon as we came to power, our government canceled it and ensured the safety of Waqf properties.”
Emphasis on economic empowerment of Muslim community
Naidu announced the allocation of Rs 5,300 crore in the budget of 2025-26 for minority welfare. He said that the situation of the Muslim community will be stronger under the NDA rule. Naidu, the founder of TDP N. Referring to T. Rama Rao’s tenure, the party has always given priority to the welfare of the Muslim community.
Honor amount for Haj House and religious leaders

Dispute over Waqf Amendment Bill and opposition to Muslim organizations
However, some Muslim organizations boycotted the iftar ceremony. These organizations are angry at the Waqf Amendment Bill and are calling it an attack on minority rights.
Let us know that the TDP is part of the ruling NDA in the center and the NDA government is preparing to bring the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024. Opposition parties and some Muslim organizations have opposed the bill. However, Chandrababu Naidu has not objected to this bill.
