Bollywood actress Ananya Panday, who was only 24 when she shared the screen with actor Vijay Deverakonda in the 2022 film, Liger, was “uncomfortable” doing the film, revealed her father, actor Chunky Panday. He stated that it was he who pushed her to pursue the project, but he now feels that he should not have.

During a chat with Mashable India, Chunky revealed, “When she asked me if she should do this film… she was thinking that she was too young for it. She said ‘Papa, I am too young to do this.’ I said you do this, it’s a commercial, big film but maybe she was right. She was too young to do it.”

“She was uncomfortable. She said, ‘Maybe, I am too young for this.’ She was confused then,” Chunky added.

Liger, which was mounted on a massive budget, tanked miserably at the box office. Chunky said that post the film’s disastrous performance, he never gave career advise to Ananya again.

“From that day on, I never put any pressure on her. Maybe I was wrong. I am old school. I don’t know anything else. If she had asked me ‘Papa, should I do Bae?’ I would have said no,” he said.

On the work front, Ananya will reportedly be seen sharing the screen with Kartik Aaryan in Karan Johar’s next, titled Main Tera Tu Meri Tu Meri Main Tera. Besides she also has a film with R Madhavan and Akshay Kumar in the pipeline.

Ananya is also expected to shoot for the second season of Call Me Bae this year, and she has Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya in her kitty.
