While people find inspiration in the smallest of objects and ideas, some aspects or avenues that could be a source of copious inspiration could be overlooked sometimes. A visibly small achievement that is not pompously celebrated could sometimes not be seen for what it means.

Anand Mahindra Is All Praise For IAS Officer

Highlighting and, therefore, celebrating one such achievement, the Mahindra Group chairman took to X to share his thoughts on a noble accomplishment by a public servant.

In his post, he underscored the case of IAS officer Devarakonda Krishna Bhaskar, a district collector in the southern state of Telangana.

This officer managed to do, what some are calling ‘unthinkable’. Devarakonda Krishna Bhaskar managed to raise groundwater levels. Not just that, he managed to increase the groundwater levels by a staggering 6 meters in just three years.

Lauding this, Mumbai-based billionaire Anand Mahindra said, “Given our involvement in the Farm sector, we are all too aware of the challenge the country faces in restoring groundwater levels.”

Mahindra & Mahindra, the group’s automaker also sells farm equipment, including tractors used in plowing.

According to Mahindra, no praise can be enough for this astonishing achievement by D.K. Bhaskar.

He further added, “He gives us hope that none of our problems are insurmountable. All it takes is single-minded determination.”

Netizens React

Some netizens reacted to this post, and joined Mahindra in praising Bhaskar.

One X user said, “Incredible work by D.K. Bhaskar! His dedication proves that with determination, even the toughest challenges can be overcome. Stories like this inspire us all to take action—because change is possible.”

“I think, sir, more Public-private-corporate partnership is required to solve this massive crisis that’s going to surround us in future.”, commented another user.

One user said, “Even village panchayat can go for check dams with local participation. The 1 lakh plus surviving lakes in TN built with the participation of people. With bare hands, they did the job. But, today with JCBs iron tongs either we fill the lakes with debris or dig it deeper for soil.”
