The budget session of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly began on Tuesday (February 18) with heavy protests and uproar. Samajwadi Party MLA from Meerut, Atul Pradhan tied himself up in chains and entered the gathering, while he was opposing the inhuman behavior being done with illegal immigrant Indians deployed from the US.
In another protest, MLC of Samajwadi Party Ashutosh Sinha reached Vidhan Bhavan with “the bone of morality” on a bicycle. Counting a distance of three kilometers, Sinha said, “Mahakumbh is going on in Prayagraj, but the ‘morality’ of the government is dead. The government is hiding the death toll instead of expressing condolences. ” Sinha further alleged that the government has done the work of looting democracy in the state by -elections, and that is why he has brought ‘bone urn of morality’.
Along with this, members of the Samajwadi Party staged a sit -in near the statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh in the Legislature Complex. Members, with banners and placards in hand, expressed displeasure over the failures of the government with slogans like “Lathi Goli Sarkar, will not run” and “anti -reservation, anti -Dalit government will not run”. Senior members Sudhakar Singh and HN Singh Patel said that party MLAs have opposed the government’s failure on many issues including Sambhal, Kumbh.
Samajwadi Party MLA @Atulpradhansp Ji lodged a protest by tying himself to chains in the assembly!
These chains are a symbol of the dictatorship of power and the attempt to suppress the voice of democracy. When injustice crosses the limits, the tone of protest is equally elevated!#Atulpradhan, pic.twitter.com/zhsfwtgcfm

Senior SP member Amitabh Trivedi strongly accused the fake figures of the dead and bathing devotees in Kumbh and demanded that the issue be discussed in the House. At the same time, SP’s chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary called the BJP government anti -people and anti -farmer.
This was the first session of the assembly this year. During the Governor’s address, the proceedings had to be postponed by 12:30 pm due to uproar by the members of the opposition Samajwadi Party. In the House, the Opposition raised slogans of “Governor Go back”, due to which Governor Anandiben Patel finished his address in just eight minutes. The session was then adjourned till 12:30 pm.
