Mahakumbh 2025: On the occasion of Vasant Panchami, the administration has started preparations for the Amrit bath. Due to the increasing crowd in Mahakumbh, the temples of Varanasi and Ayodhya have been changed. The time of darshan for devotees has been extended in ‘Kashi Vishwanath Temple’ in Varanasi and ‘Ram Mandir’ in Ayodhya. So that more and more devotees can come to visit. On the other hand, the period of Ganga Aarti on the main ghats has been reduced from one hour to 10 minutes, so that more crowds are not gathered.

What were the changes?

According to a report, the district administration has changed the time of darshan in temples as well as the time of Ganga Aarti. Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal said, ‘The number of devotees in Varanasi has now reached 30-40 lakhs per day. Which is due to Mahakumbh. Many pilgrims are from other states. Before coming to Mahakumbh, many devotees plan to go to Kumbh as well as Varanasi, Mirzapur, Ayodhya and Chitrakoot.

He further said, ‘Regular darshan time in Kashi Vishwanath temple is from 4:00 am to 11:00 pm, including Mangala Aarti at 3 am. To reduce the crowd, the time of visiting the temple has now been increased from 4:00 am to 1:00 am. The period of Ganga Aarti on the ghat daily has been reduced from one hour to 10 minutes. This aarti will now be conducted symbolically for only 10 minutes.

There were also changes in Ayodhya.

On the other hand, a change has also been made about the time of visiting Ayodhya Ram temple. Divisional Commissioner of Ayodhya Gaurav Dayal said, “The time of darshan has been extended to the Ramlala temple to control the crowd of devotees.” On normal days, the time of darshan for devotees is from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. But now this time has been changed from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm.

He further said, ‘The number of devotees coming to the temple daily before Mahakumbh was 70-80 thousand. But now this number has increased from 3 to 4 lakhs. But if we talk about the total devotees coming daily in Ayodhya, then this number is now 10-15 lakhs.

Earlier, the temple trust issued a statement appealing to the people of the surrounding districts, saying, “You do not come to Ayodhya for the next 15-20 days, so that the pilgrims of other states can visit peacefully.”
