In a ground-breaking achievement made by an educational institute Panvel based Amity University Maharashtra created a Guinness World Record for conducting the largest commercial advertising production lesson.
The event was held in the university auditorium on January 22. It saw participation of a total of 412 students pursuing courses on media and communication thus making it the first educational institute to set such a record in the history of the education sector.
The one-hour and four-minute-long lecture was conducted by Dr. Nima Jerrit John, the officiating head of Amity School of Communication and Amity Film School. Of the 412 students, 399 successfully comprehended the lesson, fulfilling the record criteria. “The lecture was actually 1 hour 20 minutes however as per the company, the record was set at 1 hour 4 minutes,” said the officiating head.
The event was supervised by 16 stewards and three official witnesses to ensure adherence to Guinness guidelines. The evaluation panel included Dr. Vinod Indurkar, Dr. Ambrish Saxena, and cinematographer Santosh Thundiyil as specialist witnesses officiated by Guinness for the event..

The record-breaking lesson was part of ‘Ami Ad-vantage 2025’, the university’s flagship annual event focussed on advertising film-making competition, wherein students are required to make short films in a span of 48 hours.
Speaking about the achievement, Dr. Nima John stated, “Ami Ad-vantage is about overcoming challenges in the advertising world. Attempting a Guinness World Record was one such challenge where students had to remain disciplined and attentive, while I had the task of keeping them engaged and imparting able knowledge.”
The official Guinness World Record certificate was presented to the institute’s Vice Chancellor Dr. A.W. Santhosh Kumar.
Dr. John concluded, “This record sets a new benchmark in the education sector. It was made possible through the support of Founder President Dr. Ashok Chauhan and Chancellor Dr. Aseem Chauhan,” said the professor.
