Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has sold his sprawling duplex apartment in Oshiwara for an impressive Rs 83 crore, according to property registration documents accessed by Square Yards on the official website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Maharashtra. The sale was finalized and registered in January 2025.
The luxurious property is located in The Atlantis, a premium residential project by Crystal Group, spread over 1.55 acres in the bustling neighborhood of Oshiwara, known for its vibrant lifestyle and proximity to Lokhandwala Complex. The area boasts excellent connectivity, with well-developed road networks and access to the Mumbai Metro, making it a sought-after residential destination.
According to registration details reviewed by Square Yards, the duplex spans an expansive built-up area of 529.94 square meters (5,704 sq. ft), including a carpet area of 481.75 sq. meters (5,185.62 sq. ft). The apartment also features an impressive terrace measuring 445.93 square meters (4,800 sq. ft) and comes with six mechanized car parking spaces. The transaction incurred a stamp duty of Rs 4.98 crore and registration charges of Rs 30,000.
Bachchan had purchased the luxurious residence in April 2021 for Rs 31 crore. The recent sale at Rs 83 crore marks a staggering 168% appreciation in value over less than four years. Interestingly, the same property was leased to actress Kriti Sanon in November 2021 for a monthly rent of Rs 10 lakh, with a security deposit of Rs 60 lakh, according to IGR lease records reviewed by Square Yards.
