Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly paid the highest tax among all the Indian celebrities in 2025. According to media reports, he paid a tax of Rs 120 crore. Last year, he made a tax contribution of Rs 71 crore.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, Big B’s earnings for the financial year 2024-25 stood at Rs 350 crore. His earnings come from film projects, brand endorsements, and hosting the popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
A source informed the news portal, “From doing some of the biggest feature films of Indian Cinema to being the top pick for most of the brands – Amitabh Bachchan is an actor in demand even at the age of 82. He is also the most loved host on television with Kaun Banega Crorepati. The income from all these sources amounts to Rs 350 crore, which is among the highest in the capacity of an individual in the film fraternity.”
Reportedly, Bachchan made his final advance tax payment of Rs 52.50 crore on March 15, 2025.
Last year, superstar Shah Rukh Khan had emerged as the highest taxpayer among Indian celebrities in 2024. According to Fortune India, he paid Rs 92 crore in taxes. He was followed by South star Thalapathy Vijay, who contributed Rs 80 crore, while Salman Khan has paid Rs 75 crore.
In 2023-204, cricketer Virat Kohli secured the fifth spot, paying Rs 66 crore in taxes, followed by Ajay Devgn at sixth with Rs 42 crore. MS Dhoni ranked seventh with a tax payment of Rs 38 crore, while Ranbir Kapoor, at eighth, contributed Rs 36 crore. Hrithik Roshan and Sachin Tendulkar both paid Rs 28 crore in taxes.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Big B is currently occupied with shooting for the popular TV reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
He was last seen in Vettaiyan with Rajinikanth and in Kalki 2898 AD. Up next, he will star in Ribhu Dasgupta’s courtroom drama Section 84. He is also set to reprise his role in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, which will once again be directed by Nag Ashwin.
