Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has hopped on the viral Ghibli trend, delighting fans with AI-generated edits of his iconic Sunday fan meet. On Sunday (March 30), the veteran actor took to his blog to share stunning Ghibli-style illustrations that reimagine his weekly ritual in the dreamy aesthetic of Studio Ghibli’s animated worlds.
Along with the images, Big B opened up about the growing trend and the increasing influence of AI-generated art. He wrote, “…and Ghibli.. invades the world… in the reality of the realm of communication .. and the making of the ‘reel’ .. another now popular concept .. one which demands attention .. “
The Ghibli edit captured the essence of Big B’s Sunday tradition, where hundreds of fans gather outside his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, for a chance to see the superstar.

In one of the Ghibli images, the megastar is seen signing an autograph. Another picture shows him waving at hundreds of his fans gathered outside his residence.

In a video accompanying the post, he shared glimpses of his devoted admirers chanting his name, eagerly waiting for his appearance. The clip also features an intimate moment of him offering prayers at his home temple before stepping out to greet the crowd.

The Ghibli trend has taken social media by storm, with fans and celebrities transforming real-life moments into whimsical animated visuals inspired by Studio Ghibli’s signature style.

Amitabh Bachchan’s participation in the trend has only added to its popularity, proving yet again that the 81-year-old legend remains at the forefront of digital trends.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Big B is currently occupied with shooting for the popular TV reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
He was last seen in Vettaiyan with Rajinikanth and in Kalki 2898 AD. Up next, he will star in Ribhu Dasgupta’s courtroom drama Section 84. He is also set to reprise his role in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, which will once again be directed by Nag Ashwin.
