Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Sunday on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose of the tour is to review the security situation in the state and to see the progress of development plans. Shah expressed confidence that terrorist incidents in Jammu would soon be completely banned and Jammu and Kashmir will be given full state status at a reasonable time.
Meeting with BJP MLAs
On Sunday evening, Shah held a meeting with all 28 party MLAs at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar for about two hours. Union Minister Jitendra Singh, state in -charge Tarun Chugh, State BJP President Sat Sharma, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and Ghulam Ali Khatana were also present in this meeting.
Shah’s first visit after Omar Abdullah became CM
This is Amit Shah’s first visit, since the National Conference government has been formed under the leadership of Omar Abdullah in October last year. Shah’s visit is taking place at a time when the anti -terrorism campaign in Kathua district is in full swing. He reached Jammu at around 6.50 pm, after which he was taken directly to Raj Bhavan and then met party leaders in the BJP office.
Shah will go to border post, review security
The Home Minister will visit the BSF’s advance post ‘Vinay’ on the Indo-Pakistan border in Kathua district on Monday. There they will take stock of the ground security situation. Four policemen and two militants were killed in an encounter on 27 March during the intense search operation in Kathua. Earlier on March 23, a group of terrorists from across the border in Hiranagar sector were stopped by security forces.
Will meet the families of the martyrs
During his visit, Amit Shah will also meet the families of the martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir Police at Raj Bhavan in Jammu and will hand over the appointment letters to some selected people on compassionate grounds.
Will review development works in Srinagar
On April 8, Shah will hold a meeting with the officials for development works and security arrangements at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar. During this time, he will review the various schemes running in the state and will get information from the officials about peace system.
BJP’s foundation day was also celebrated
BJP’s foundation day was also celebrated on the day of Amit Shah’s visit. In the presence of State BJP President Sat Sharma, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, the flag was hoisted at the party office and enthusiasm was seen among the party workers.
