Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the situation in Manipur is quite peaceful compared to before and the government is making efforts to establish permanent peace by negotiating with Meeti and Cookie communities. Shah also clarified that President’s rule was implemented at the right time to restore normal conditions in Manipur.
Present status of Manipur
Amit Shah said in ‘Times Now Summit 2025’,
“Now the situation is relatively peaceful. The normal life is returning to the tracks. The Ministry of Home Affairs has organized separate meetings with both communities. Gradually progress is progressing in a positive direction, now there is nothing to worry about.”
The Home Minister also said that this is not the first time that caste violence has taken place in Manipur.

What did Shah say on Jammu and Kashmir?
Amit Shah said that the promise of giving full state status to Jammu and Kashmir will be fulfilled, but its time cannot be declared publicly.
They said,
“We have assured in Parliament that Jammu and Kashmir will be given full state status. But its deadline cannot be told on the public platform.”
