“Mahakumbh is a unique symbol of the uninterrupted flow of Sanatan culture. Kumbh reflects our eternal philosophy of life based on harmony. Today, I am eager to take a dip in the confluence and seek the blessings of the saints in this great festival of unity and integrity in the holy city of Prayagraj,” the Union Home Minister tweeted earlier in the day.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam on February 5.
Maha Kumbh 2020 commenced on January 13 and will continue till February 25.
The Maha Kumbh Mela occurs only once in 144 years. Unlike the Poorna Kumbh, held every 12 years, the Maha Kumbh is marked by a rare astronomical alignment of the Moon, Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter. This celestial phenomenon is considered highly auspicious, making this year’s Kumbh Mela an attraction for spiritual seekers and curious travellers.
